Daily Program for Shut Down Creech! Mobilization 2017

NOTE:  Preparations for nonviolent direct action will take place on Mon. & Tues, to prepare for large nonviolent drone resistance action planned on Wednesday, April 26.  Arriving by Mon. morning highly encouraged so that those risking arrest, AND all support people can be well prepared.

 -Mon. & Tues, April 24-25, Las Vegas Trials for "Citizen's Arrest of Creech Commander" action
3 Anti-drone activists on trial for Nov. 2016 action:  Attempted "Citizen's Arrest" of Creech Commander for Crimes Against Humanity.   Read story & watch video HERE.

-Tuesday, April 25, Concert, Featuring Mike Rufo & Guests:
Mike Rufo brought his rocking music & lyrics to Shut Down Creech last year and was quite a hit. Watch this cool music video from Creech featuring Mike Rufo on guitar.
                       
-Wednesday, April 26, Day of mass nonviolent direct action
To be formalized at Camp Justice on Tuesday, following nonviolence training. Pre-camp planning by "affinity groups" encouraged in weeks ahead.
         
 -Thursday, April 27, Special Event:
National Bird, drone film screening in Las Vegas 
Time & Place TBA. National Bird is a powerful new drone documentary featuring 3 drone whistleblowers. Q&A/Discussion to follow, with featured guest to be announced soon.
-Friday, April 28, "Creating A PEACE Community"
Day of formal and informal activities to help energize and build a growing anti-drone, anti-militarism global effort. To include: debriefing, connecting, brainstorming and strategizing activities, as well as specific activities to nurture ourselves and each other. Friday night will include a "Celebratory Feast" and informal Talent Show following dinner.

Please note: Program planning for 2017 is still in the works; below is a very tentative schedule.
Changes are to be expected. Please check our website periodically for developments.
Please be aware that we are making significant changes compared to last year, which are partially highlighted above. Nonviolence Training and Peace Keepers Training will all occur on Tuesday to prepare for a large nonviolent direct action on Wednesday. On Monday afternoon "affinity groups" will begin to form and plan for the peaceful resistance planned on Wednesday.

CAMP JUSTICE:  Sunday, April 23, 4:00pm - Sat. April 29, Noon
(Campers can arrive earlier in the day, if they choose, and begin to set up their camp sites; The land is BLM land and no permit is required for up to 2 weeks)
24 hour Peace Camp

Including nightly fire circles, drumming and community building activities

Daily Peace Vigils, Monday - Friday, during commute hours at the southeastern gate, across from Camp Justice:  6-8 am and 3-5 pm, starting Monday, April 24

Note: BIG CHANGES from last year: Monday and Tuesday will be preparation for Wednesday's peaceful resistance. Wed. afternoon thru Friday will include formal and informal activities, including excursions to hot springs and wild horses, desert walkabouts, yoga, tai chi, singing,  and opportunities for building and nurturing our peace community.  Meals will be offered for much of the week. Details HERE. However, there are very limited options in Indian Springs for nourishment, including the Oasis Bar and Restaurant and a very tiny mini-market, so come well prepared for times when we aren't able to provide meals. Thank you.

Sunday, April 23 - PEACE CONVERGENCE BEGINS
4 p.m. Set-Up CAMP JUSTICE. Creechers may arrive earlier to stake out camp sites.
 

Monday, April 24
6 - 8 a.m.     Peace Vigil at Creech, southeast entrance, across from CAMP JUSTICE
8 - 9 a.m.     Breakfast break
9 - 11 a.m.   Trial support in Las Vegas (optional). Other activities TBA.
11 - 1 p.m.   SDC Overview Plus Formation of "Affinity Groups"
1:00 p.m.     Lunch break
2:00 p.m.     Affinity Groups report back on tentative plans.
3 - 5 p.m.    Peace Vigil at Creech, southeast entrance, across from CAMP JUSTICE
5 - 6 p.m. Dinner break
7 - 10 p.m.   Informal Activities TBA, incl. Drumming Circle @ CAMP JUSTICE

Tuesday, April 25
6 - 8 a.m.        Peace Vigil at Creech, southeast entrance, across from CAMP JUSTICE

9 - 11:30         Nonviolence Training
11:30 p.m.      Lunch
12:30-1 p.m.   Legal Consequences Discussion and Q & A

                          B:  Continuation of Affinity Group strategizing/planning
2 p.m.              Final Affinity Group report backs

6 - 10 a.m.     Shut Down Creech!  (Direct Action to End Drone Warfare)
                      Light breakfast/Snacks available before and after action.
10 - 12 a.m.   Recovery/Debriefing.  Jail Support as needed.
12:00 pm      Lunch
1- 3 pm         Variable activities TBA, to incl. Local Excursions, Relaxation Time
3 - 5 p.m.       Peace Vigil at Creech Base Entrance across from CAMP JUSTICE
5 - 6 p.m.   Dinner
7 -10 p.m.      Evening Activities TBA (Talent Show vs. 2nd Concert vs. other?)

Thursday,  April 27
6 - 8 a.m.        Peace Vigil at Creech, southeast entrance, across from CAMP JUSTICE
12:00 pm      Lunch 
3 - 4 p.m.       Shortened Peace Vigil at Creech Base
4 - 6 p.m.   Head to Las Vegas for Special Event: National Bird, film screening.
Everyone's on their own for Dinner (in Las Vegas?)
7 -10 p.m.      National Bird, Drone whistleblower documentary;
Screening & discussion, with pending special guest TBA


Friday,  April 28 - A Day of Connecting, Debriefing, Rejuvenating and 
brainstorming for a Peaceful World (Details TBA)
