Housing & Transportation

Please be sure to complete this final REGISTRATION FORM if you are hoping to come to Shut Down Creech this fall, 2020, even if you are not certain.  We are unable to offer rides this year from the airport or during the week of resistance due to the COVID pandemic. We are also asking that no one fly or take buses or trains to Las Vegas to arrive at our peace convergence in order minimize risks for everyone. We will not be coordinating transportation assistance during the week of Shut Down Creech, and ask that everyone provide their own transportation throughout the week.  We also ask that if you share transportation with other Creechers during the week, that you personally assume responsibility for any risks that may occur.

Meals at CAMP JUSTICE:  (Special precautions will be needed because of the status of the pandemic)
Vegetarian meals will be provided 3x/day from Sunday evening, September 27, until Saturday morning, October 3.  We request a $10.00 per day donation to help defray costs.  (No one will be turned away for lack of funds.)
There will be a small cooking crew that will use the kitchen in the guest house;  The guest house will otherwise be off limits to other Creechers to minimize passing of the COVID virus. We also ask everyone to bring and wash their own eating utensils and dishware, including plate, bowl, cup, fork, spoon, knife, and water bottle.  This will help keep us all safe.
Go to Meals for more details.

Camp Justice:  (Special precautions will be taken).
Please note that Camp Justice has moved to the Goddess Temple grounds, 3 miles north on Hwy 95 from Creech AFB.   Everyone will be camping outdoors (or sleeping in their vehicles) this year due to the corona virus. Tents, Camper vehicles/RV's and vans are all welcome. Port-a potties, running water, shade trees, showers and the beautiful Peace Pavilion, with tables and chairs are all available. Please check with staff before setting up your tent after arrival.

Help us build the most beautiful Peace Camp EVER!

  • WHERE: on the Goddess Temple grounds, 3 miles northwest of CREECH AFB on Hwy 95, in "Cactus Springs." (The little hamlet on the southwest side of the highway).
  • WHEN: Sunday-Saturday, September 27 - October 3;                                                                                                Campers may begin to stake out their sites as early as noon on September 27.  Please check with staff after arrival about where designated tenting areas are.  We will all depart by noon, October 3, at the latest.

Goddess Temple Guest House:  3 miles from Camp Justice.
(Guesthouse will only be used for cooking meals by a small designated cooking crew.)
THIS DOES NOT APPLY THIS FALL:  The beautiful and sacred Goddess Temple is able to offer a very limited number of beds to guests. Priority will be given to activists over 70 years young, and those with special needs. Beds will likely fill quickly, so early reservations are encouraged. A wait list for those under 70 is available should the beds not fill up completely for those most in need.

IMPORTANT:  This is our Drone Resistance Peace Encampment, so the SDC Team is hoping most people will stay at Camp Justice in a tent, camper vehicle, (guest house on hold), rather than drive the 2 hour round trip from Las Vegas each day for motel/hotel accommodations.  This will be friendlier to Mother Earth....as we all work hard to decrease our use of fossil fuels.  The added advantage of us all staying on the Goddess Temple grounds is that we have better opportunity to build solidarity and community as we work together for peace.

We do offer a short motel/hotel list below for those who may still need to stay in Las Vegas.

Note: there are no sleeping accommodations in Indian Springs, the small town across from Creech AFB.  One other alternative is to rent an RV in Las Vegas with other "Creechers" and bring it to Camp Justice for the days that you are there, with options to share the cost with others.

More info about Camp Justice HERE.

TRANSPORTATION:   Transportation will NOT be offered this fall due to the pandemic. Apologies!
THIS DOES NOT APPLY THIS FALL:  We are able to help coordinate transportation needs from Las Vegas airport arrival to Camp Justice/Goddess Temple and back to airport throughout the week. After you register we will be sending out a transportation form to coordinate rides.   Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with transportation from your home town/state to Las Vegas. We are also unable to assist with travel from the airport to your Las Vegas hotel or rental car accommodation.

Those planning to stay in a hotel should consider renting a car.  We cannot offer rides to/from your hotel on a daily basis.  However, we can share information about others staying in Las Vegas hotels once registration is underway, to assist you in coordinating rental car sharing with others staying in hotels.
