Housing & Transportation

Please be sure to complete the pre-registration form, even if your plans are only tentative.  In addition, filling out our Pre-Registration Form now will help the Creech Organizing Team better plan in the weeks ahead.  We will be welcoming people to travel to Las Vegas via plane and public transportation, and we will offer transportation assistance from/to the airport and during the week of peaceful resistance.  However, due to the COVID crisis, we ask that everyone take necessary safety precautions to minimize health risks for everyone.  Please read details below carefully.  We also ask that if you share transportation with other Creechers during the week, that you personally assume responsibility for any risks that you take.  Social distancing and masks will be necessary, even if you've been vaccinated, to minimize risks.

Camp Justice:  (Special precautions will be taken to include: social distancing,  face masks and camping only options.  No indoor sleeping options will be available due to the pandemic).
Please note that Camp Justice has moved to the Goddess Temple grounds, 3 miles north on Hwy 95 from Creech AFB.   Everyone will be camping outdoors (or sleeping in their vehicles) this spring due to the corona virus. Tents, Camper vehicles/RV's and vans are all welcome. Port-a potties, running water, shade trees, showers and the beautiful Peace Pavilion, with tables and chairs are all available. Please check with staff before setting up your tent after arrival.  EVERYONE needs to bring their own sleeping bag, pad and tent.

Help us build the most beautiful Peace Camp EVER!
  • WHERE: on the Goddess Temple grounds, 3 miles northwest of CREECH AFB on Hwy 95, in "Cactus Springs." (The little hamlet on the southwest side of the highway).
  • WHEN: Sunday-Saturday, September 26 through October 2;  Campers may begin to stake out their sites as early as noon on Sunday September 26. Please check with staff after arrival about where designated tenting areas are.  We will all depart by noon, October 2, at the latest.

Goddess Temple Guest Houselocated on the Goddess Temple grounds.
(Due to COVID, the Guesthouse will primarily be used for cooking meals by a small designated cooking crew each day.  All Creechers will be assigned various tasks to support our community.)
THE FOLLOWING DOES NOT APPLY THIS FALL (Due to COVID):  The beautiful and sacred Goddess Temple is able to offer a very limited number of beds to guests. Priority will be given to activists over 70 years young, and those with special needs. Beds will likely fill quickly, so early reservations are encouraged. A wait list for those under 70 is available should the beds not fill up completely for those most in need.

IMPORTANT:  This is our Drone Resistance Peace Encampment, so the SDC Team is hoping most people will stay at Camp Justice in a tent, camper vehicle, (guest house on hold), rather than drive the 2 hour round trip from Las Vegas each day for motel/hotel accommodations.  This will be friendlier to Mother Earth....as we all work hard to decrease our carbon footprint.  The added advantage of us all staying on the Goddess Temple grounds is that we have better opportunity to build solidarity and community as we work together for peace.

We do offer a short motel/hotel list below for those who may still need to stay in Las Vegas.  We cannot offer rides to and from the hotel to the Shut Down Creech.  Please make your own arrangements.

Note: there are no sleeping accommodations in Indian Springs, the small town across from Creech AFB. One other alternative is to rent an RV in Las Vegas and bring it to Camp Justice for the days that you are there, with possible options to share the cost with other "Creechers."

More info about Camp Justice HERE.
Meals at CAMP JUSTICE:  (Special precautions will be needed because of the pandemic)
Vegetarian meals will be provided 3x/day from Sunday evening, September 26, until Saturday morning, October 2.  We request a $10.00 per day donation to help defray costs.  (No one will be turned away for lack of funds.)

A different daily cooking crew will be assigned to use the kitchen in the guest house each day; We ask everyone to bring and wash their own eating utensils and dishware, including plate, bowl, cup, fork, spoon, knife, and water bottle.  This will help keep us all safer.  (People flying from afar will be provided with dishes & utensils.)

Go to Meals for more details.

We are planning to offer transportation assistance from Las Vegas airport to Camp Justice/Goddess Temple and back to airport, as needed, throughout the week. However, if you do choose to fly or take other public transportation to get to Las Vegas, we ask that you are diligent about taking extra safety precautions while riding in other people's cars, as well as take extra precautions while participating in Camp Justice and Creech AFB activities throughout the week.  These extra precautions will be clarified as the event date draws nearer, and the current risks are more fully understood.  After you register we will be sending out a transportation form to coordinate rides.  Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with transportation from your home town/state to Las Vegas. We are also unable to assist with travel from the airport to any Las Vegas hotel or rental car locations.

Those planning to stay in a hotel should consider renting a car, or have their own car.  We cannot offer rides to/from your hotel on a daily basis.  However, we can share information about others staying in Las Vegas hotels once registration is underway, to assist you in possibly coordinating ride sharing with others staying in hotels.
