Housing & Transportation

Please be sure to complete the Registration Form asap, even if your plans are tentative.  This helps the Creech Organizing Team better plan in the weeks ahead.  We welcome people to travel to Las Vegas via plane, train/bus, car, carpools, etc. We will offer transportation assistance from/to the Las Vegas airport and bus terminal to those staying at Camp Justice during the week of peaceful resistance.  However, due to the COVID pandemic, we ask that everyone take the necessary precautions to minimize health risks and that everyone assume responsibility for the risks that may remain. If you share transportation with other Creechers during the week, we ask that you wear masks while carpooling. Mask wearing outdoors is urged when physical distancing is not possible, even if you've been vaccinated.  Please Read our COVID guidelines, which we expect all participants to follow while at Shut Down Creech.

Camp Justice:
Please note that Camp Justice has moved to the Goddess Temple grounds, 3 miles north on Hwy 95 from Creech AFB.   Primarily only tent or car camping options are available at Camp Justice, however, with Covid concerns lessening, limited guest house beds will be available for those most in need, one person per room. (Scroll down for details). Tents, Camper vehicles/RV's and vans are all welcome. Outdoor toilets, running water, shade trees, showers and the beautiful Peace Pavilion, with tables and chairs are all available. Please check with staff before setting up your tent after arrival.  EVERYONE needs to bring their own sleeping bag, pad and tent.  Las Vegas hotel alternatives are available for those unable to camp, but we encourage people to stay at Camp Justice, if possible, to help build our peace community.

Help us build the most beautiful Peace Camp EVER!
  • WHERE: on the Goddess Temple grounds, 3 miles northwest of CREECH AFB on Hwy 95, in "Cactus Springs." (The little hamlet on the southwest side of the highway).
  • WHEN: Saturday-Saturday, March 26 through April 2;  Campers may begin to stake out their sites as early as noon on Saturday March 26. Please check with staff after arrival about where designated tenting areas are.  We will all depart by noon, April 2, at the latest.

Goddess Temple Guest Houselocated on the Goddess Temple grounds.
UPDATE (March 2022):  Since the Covid pandemic appears to be waning, with less severe infections in most cases, we will be offering a very limited number of beds, with one guest per room. Priority will be given to activists over 70 years young, and those with special needs. Beds will likely fill quickly, so early reservations are encouraged. A wait list for those under 70 is available should the beds not fill up completely for those most in need.

IMPORTANT:  This is our Drone Resistance Peace Encampment, so the SDC Team is hoping most people will stay at Camp Justice via tent, car, or camper vehicle, (and with very limited guest house beds available), rather than drive the 2 hour round trip from Las Vegas each day for motel/hotel accommodations.  This will be friendlier to Mother Earth....as we all work hard to decrease our carbon footprint.  An added advantage is that we will have better opportunities to build solidarity and community as we camp together for peace.

Below, we include a short list of possible hotels for those needing to make hotel plans. If you are not staying at Camp Justice, you will need to make your own arrangements.

Note: There are no sleeping accommodations in Indian Springs, the small town across from Creech AFB. One other alternative is to rent an RV in Las Vegas and bring it to Camp Justice for the days that you are there, with possible options to share the cost with other "Creechers."

More info about Camp Justice HERE.
Meals at CAMP JUSTICE:  (Special precautions will be taken due to the pandemic.)
Vegetarian meals will be provided 3x/day from Saturday evening, March 26, until Saturday morning, April 2.  We request a $10.00 per day donation to help defray costs.  (No one will be turned away for lack of funds.)

A different daily cooking crew will be assigned to use the kitchen in the guest house each day; We ask everyone to bring and wash their own eating utensils and dishware, including plate, bowl, cup, fork, spoon, knife, and water bottle.  This will help keep us all safer.  (People flying from afar will be provided with dishes & utensils.)

Other accommodation resources:

We are planning to offer transportation assistance from Las Vegas airport/bus station to Camp Justice/Goddess Temple and back, as needed, throughout the week. However, if you do choose to fly or take other shared transportation to get to Las Vegas, we ask that you take sufficient safety precautions, including wearing masks. After you register we will be sending out a transportation form to coordinate rides.  Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with transportation from your home town/state to Las Vegas. We are also unable to assist with travel from the airport to any Las Vegas hotel or rental car locations.

Those planning to stay in a hotel need to arrange their own daily rides to camp justice, or rent a car.  We cannot offer rides to/from your hotel on a daily basis.  However, we can share information about others staying in Las Vegas hotels once registration is underway, to assist you in possibly coordinating ride sharing with others staying in hotels.
